The storage unit that Safe Place for Youth (SPY) used was part of a large fire on October 26th, 2014 in Venice where eight firefighters were injured fighting the blaze. SPY lost a huge supply of new underwear, socks, and warm winter clothing that the homeless youth desperately rely on as the winter months approach. When we found out about this, we knew we had to do something. MyPocketChange is proud to have a local business partner to help us:
Together, with your help, we will help SPY resupply what was lost in this tragic fire.
If you are able to donate any gently used or new winter clothing, or new underwear or socks, please contact us and we will help you donate your items. Their most needed items during the winter months include warm blankets and sleeping bags.
Any funds donated to this project will go directly to assisting Safe Place for Youth. Please use the donate box below:

Safe Place for Youth’s mission is to inspire, nurture, and empower the resilient human spirit of homeless youth by providing immediate and lasting solutions, one young person at a time. The program prioritizes low barriers for entry, harm-reduction, a trauma-informed approach, and the provision of a safe, supportive environment.
Safe Place for Youth (S.P.Y.) provides three core areas of service provision: 1) Street Outreach 2) Drop-In Center 3) Case Management. Street Outreach teams engage youth on the street three times a week, building relationships while providing basic survival items including food packs, hygiene products, clean socks, sunscreen, first aid, and condoms.
